Laboratory Ball Mill, Tissue Grinder for Extraction of DNA/Rna and ProteinsUltrassay UBM-M400 Ball Mill is used for the rapid grinding or mixing of small amounts of samples in laboratories, including dry, wet, and frozen samples. It is equipped with two 50ml grinding jars and can also be configured with various types of cell disruption adapters for biological cell lysis and the extraction of DNA/RNA and proteins. Its compact design features a simple appearance and desktop operation.

The device is compact in size and employs a frequency-controlled LCD screen interface that allows for various functions such as timing, speed adjustment, and intermittent grinding, with simple and quick settings. It features one-touch start for sample processing within a few minutes, offering safety and stability. It can be widely used for samples with varying characteristics including hard, medium to low hardness, brittle, dry, sticky, fibrous, soft, and elastic materials.


Working Principles
UBM-M400 ball mill operates with two grinding jars moving back and forth in a horizontal plane along the diameter. The grinding balls inside the jars impact the spherical inner walls of the jars with ultra-high energy due to inertia, causing the sample to be crushed and ground through impacts and friction. At the same time, the sample is homogenized and mixed during the movement of the jars and balls. Using smaller diameter grinding balls is more advantageous for sample homogenization and mixing, while larger diameter grinding balls achieve better crushing effects with more powerful impacts. Furthermore, when using the combination of centrifuge tubes and grinding balls, the significant friction and impact effects of the grinding balls can damage biological tissue cells, resulting in cell disruption.
